Simone qualified in NSW in 2014 before moving to the UK to work in-house in one of the UK’s leading fintech companies until the end of 2017.

At her time at Hegarty Legal, she has instructed barristers in various Federal Court and Supreme Court matters, which include contractual disputes between parties and oppression cases. She has appeared in directions hearings at the Supreme Court on several occasions.

Relevant experience

  • Conducting contract reviews, drafting and negotiating various commercial contracts, including service level agreements, payment agreements and settlement agreements.

  • Advising individuals and companies in relation to various commercial contracts disputes, including disputes in relation to a Contract for Sale of Land, sponsorship agreements, share sale agreements and subscription agreements.

  • Advising a company under a creditors’ trust in relation to a Fair Work Act claim.

  • Advising a company under a creditors’ trust in relation to a claim from remuneration of a prior appointed administrator.

  • Taking statements and drafting affidavits in various matters across multiple jurisdictions, including at the District Court, Supreme Court and Federal Court level.

  • Reviewing evidence provided in pleadings and through discovery in various jurisdictions, and assessing the relevance and importance of evidence provided.

  • Assisting in legal verification process for listing of the London Stock Exchange including reviewing and drafting of disclosure documents.
